My stepdaughters once asked me what a Sempinard was - they'd been singing about it at Brownies in a song called "An Austrian went yodelling" as follows "An Austrian went yodelling on a mountain top high, when along came a Sempinard, interrupted his cry". It was only when they mentioned that Brown Owl had told them a Sempinard was a kind of dog, that it clicked - should be a St. Bernard!! However, that type of dog is now forever known as a Sempinard in my mind...
