Yeah yeah there was a good old fashioned run an a bank in Britain due in part to poor investment and speculation in derivitives and hedge funds heavily invested in sub prime mortage shemes.

What made it historic was that it was the FIRST time people could and did make an ELECTRONIC run on a bank as well as lining up outside the bank to withdrawl money.
