But best of all was Miltown when the music flowed so free
Willie Clancy and the County Clare I'm ever in your debt
For the sights and sounds of yesterday are shining memories yet.

This tune was written by Andy while in hospital in Scotts Head, New South Wales, Australia after nearly drowning. I guess a near death experience would make anyone of us look back over our past, but not many people could make a classic song out of his thoughts.

I think it's a great tribute to Willie Clancy and to traditional music - Andy Irvine says that when you're a songwriter you never throw anything away.

One summer I'm going to tour Clare and visit all the places mentioned in this song. I'll finish with a pint at O'Connor's in Doolin in memory of the Russell family.
