Just a thaught here .........
IF the "media" run a story about a bank and cause a crash and members of the media buy shares in that bank knowing the tempary low price of shares will soon revert to normal values. Are they then guilty of "insider trading"?
The cynic in me would also wish to know wether the media then running another story along the lines of "Bank fights back from crash to confound critics" and causing the share price to deviate upward and then selling their shares, would then be guilty of two crimes??
Not that they ever would, here in good old blighty
