How I did it was make the invite in the thread as above, and then leave the HearMe window open while I worked on some writing in an adjacent window, posting a HearMe message that said something to the effect of, I am here but may be looking at another window momentarily, please stick around!

Just think. Personal messages that read, "What time can you meet me at HearMe to work on that song you wanted me to teach you? What key will it be in? Got the words printed from DT (or that e-mail I sent you) all set to go so I can tell ya what chords to write in and where?"
