Sorry for the late notice but the
Newcastle and Hunter Valley Folk Club

has the following two events this weekend. I'm definitely going to the dinner & dance, and probably going to the picnic.

Saturday October 6
Celebration of the Folk Club's 40th Year
Buttai Barn
Dinner, Dance and meeting old friends
The folk from the Purple Parrot Club which is the original name of our folk club are organising a celebration of 40 yerars in Newcastle. On Saturday 6th October a dinner which includes a two course meal at the Buttai Barn. Followed on Sunday by a Poets Breakfast.
Free camping with toilets but no showers. Open mike sessions for all

Tix: dinner pre paid are
Adults, $20
Children 12-16, $15
               5-11, $10
Poets Breakfast $5

ALL TICKETS are PRE Paid only. RSVP 20th September

Dinner Bookings: Please send your money with a stamped addressed envelope (so Marilyn can send your tickets) with a note of dietary needs if any.

Folk Club Picnic Day
Centennial Park, Cooks Hill

Whether you attended the Folk Sanctum, the YMCA, the Purple Parrot Folk Club or any other folking club or if you simply like folk music and the people who play and sing it, you are invited to attend a reunion barbecue and friendly get-together.

We intend to have a casual BBQ at Centennial Park not far from Darby Street at the around 1pm . We will supply the meat, salad and buns at a minimal cost on the day in the vacinity of $3 to $4. Or if you prefer bring your own. There are no great plans, it is simply a get-together of old friends and we will see how the day pans out.
