Thread Name: Songbook Indexing: Wee Sing Series
Subject: Songbook Indexing: Wee Sing Series
Since the late 1970's, Price Stearn Sloan Publishers of Los Angeles has been publishing the Wee Sing series of children's songbooks, edited by Pamela Conn Beall and Susan Hagen Nipp. Most of the songs in the books are traditional, and the authors generally use the traditional lyrics without the annoying practice of sanitizing them for our current enlightened age. The books are well-designed, and they are nicely illustrated by Nancy Spence Klein. I don't know anything about the authors. If you can tell us something about them, please do. The books are reasonably-priced - I think they're still selling for about three bucks, but I picked up many of mine at library book sales for a quarter apiece.
I have a whole stack of these books, and it's always a bear to find songs since I have to look though all the indexes. I figured I'd post the indexes here - to help myself, and anyone else who might be interested in these songs. If you'd like me to post a particular song or tune, let me know. If you have a book in htis series that I haven't posted, please post the index. the ones I know I've missed are Wee Sing for Christmas; Wee Sing Games, Games, Games; Wee Sing Dinosaurs; Wee Sing More Bible Songs; and Wee Sing for Baby. Somehow, I don't think the dinosaurs songbook will have many traditional songs.....

I posted these indexes because I was looking for "I Saw Esau" - but it isn't in these books, either.
