Uncle DaveO: you're right, I did mean its spinning round itself, not its spinning round the sun. But I'm absolutely sure this extra energy generated by the barrage will have to be sourced from the interaction between the earth and the moon. But I can't figure out if that will make the moon fly off into space, or come crashing down on my head.My feeling is it will slow the moon down slightly, and that will cause it to come closer to us. But I'm not sure.
