I never quit drinking but I did stop cigarettes after 30+years. Notice I said stop not quit. I deceided I was not smoking today. Every day I remind myself I'm not smoking today. The approach is one day at a time. That was 10 years ago. I still haven't quit smoking I'm just not smoking today. It worked for me for cigarettes it might work for you for alcohol. It's worth a try.
