I recall this from my childhood. (Sorry, they are only fragments and might even be parts of two different songs.)
"In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia Stood a cow on a railroad track."
It ends with,
"They found her horns in Virginia And her tail by the Lonesome Pine."
Note: I stumbled upon this site only because I recalled this song my father sang during car trips in the 1940's while driving my grandson through the mountains of North Carolina by the Blue Ridge Parkway and admiring the pines.
