I'm pretty sure the second line starts with the word "Someone" instead of "Somebody" -- and it scans better that way, too.

By the way, it sounds as though it's written about the afterlife, but I believe Rick Kemp wrote it for Maddy while he was waiting (and worrying) for her to arrive home from a car trip through a bad storm. So "somewhere along the road" was actually home, and "someone" was hubby.
