In 1975''76' and maybe more years I worked on the Mississippi Queen the sister ship to the Delta Queen. In fact we would have the great steamboat race each summer with both boats headed out for the 2 week race. John Hartford, was indeed a riverboat pilot, after he would play, and when the bars would close for the night, he would let us sit behind the pilot's chair as long as we stayed quiet.
