Congress could stop the War in Iraq by direct means if they wanted to...simply by refusing to authorize any more funding of the war. Kucinich has pointed that out over and over again. I don't believe for a moment that the main machinery of the Democratic Party including Nancy Pelosi has any intention of stopping that war, and I think that's where Krauthammer is mistaken in some of his assumptions....but I do think they'd be quite happy to cause George Bush some problems and embarrassments before the next election.
