Folks, I have checked this out and it is not a hoax. It came to me from someone who is diligent about NOT passing on facetious email requests. She belongs to a moms' club which has been helping in this quest.

Those of you who live on the East coast and near San Francisco, please read about Katie Corcoran a mom who was suffering from post-partum depression and disappeared from her home in Rhode Island a month ago. She was getting help for it, which makes it even more inexplicable she would just vanish.
