I have had the best results by recording cassettes or LPs onto an Edirol RO9 as a wav, then transferring that to the PC and burning to CD. The long way round, I know, but the superior results are worth the extra effort. A programme to clean up the sound, get rid of hiss, crackles, etc. is also well worth having.
