My recollection of the original lyric is as follows:

"To look sharp, every time you shave
To feel sharp, make your beard behave,
Just be sharp. Use Gillette Blue Blades®
For the quickest slickest shave of all."

But that may have been some variation of the original. I'm not sure about the "on the ball" phrase--I don't remember it.

But how can you hum through the "Look Sharp March" without a follow-up of "BrylCreem, a little dab'll do ya!
BrylCreem, you'll look so debonaire.
BrylCreem, the gals'll all pursue ya!
Simply rub a little in your hair!"

That last line later morphed into

"They love to get their fingers in your hair" as I recall. Maybe there were some other variations as well.
