I almost forgot the "semi-immortal" Tom Lehrer, the Harvard professor who was king of the humorous topical commentary song for a brief time. He suddenly stopped performing and recording to return to his first love, teaching - mathmatics, I believe.

Reissue CD's are available. Some of his all-time hits were, "Rickety Tickety Tin," "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" and "Be Prepared (The Boy Scouts' Marching Song)."
