Tamari-flavored nuts are something I haven't tried, but I have seen something similar in the oriental foods section of the supermarket.
Salted dry-roast peanuts are cheap and often on sale here, so I haven't tried roasting them. If I were still in the South, I would, because we got fresh raw peanuts there; those in stores here (Canada) are not the best. True, Liz. Planter's roasted peanuts are over-salted, to name one. I think some salted nuts, especially peanuts, have been soaked in brine, thus the salt has penetrated deeply into the nut.
