Michaelr is here in Northern California, and he should have gone to Lodi, because it was a wonderful concert. Deb even paid homage to the Stuck in Lodi" song.
This is the secont time I've heard Deb in concert, and both times were absolutely delightful. She has a remarkably rich voice, and her choice of songs is very satisfying - they're songs that we folk geeks will like, but they're also very acceptable to a broader audience. Heck, she even made "Walloping Window Blind" interesting, and she slipped in a wicked rendition of "Johnny Be Fair" and even a sea chantey.
I guess what I liked best was when Deb stepped away from the microphone and sang a cappella. The concert was in a beautiful Episcopalian church, but the acoustics were a bit too "live" and swallowed up some of her lyrics. When she moved away from the mike, she filled the room with her voice, and it was lovely.
