K-Tel was a record company, based in Canada, that sold cheap collection records of songs from the 60s and 70s (mostly).

Seldom Scene may have done "Panama Red" but probably not. It is from the mind of Peter Rowan and he does it with the group "Old & In the Way" (with Jerry Garcia and Divid Grisman) and with "The New Riders of the Purple Sage", maybe also on his own records.
