I was at Keele in the early 60s. I remember seeing The Spinners, and having to hang my coat in the laundry room for a week to get the smoke out of it, but didn't usually go to the folk club as, at the time, I had other things to do on a Sunday.
The English folk dance club used to perform at the panto that the drama group put on (for the staff children, supposedly), but in my second year numbers dwindled till we had a regular atttendance of 'half a Dashing White Sargeant', and we combined with the thriving Scottish Dancers.
