Subject: When a song takes on new life of its own
This is a Happy and a sad story, which started a year last October

I have some friends (Sue and Andrew) who emigrated to Australia 6 years ago, and last year my wife and I went to visit them, and as you might have guessed we had a wonderful time. On returning home I wrote a song about were they lived called the "Adelaide Hills". It is a very beautiful place with wonderful wildlife, and I was most taken with it. By March 2007 I had recorded the song as part of a CD called "Acoustic Nights. After some time my wife decided to get in touch with some Australian radio stations. Soon after 891 ABC Adelaide had contacted me, by this time it was May 2007 and I had already sent a copy of the song to the radio station. The next thing we knew was that Andrew had developed Cancer, and we went through all the upset and long phone conversations but with a hopeful outlook of recovery.
While this was going on 891 ABC Adelaide got in touch and wanted to talk to me live on air and play my song, which for a singer songwriter this was a very exciting moment in my life and one I will always treasure, but more so that Sue & Andrew Listened in and said they had shed a tear and said how much it meant to them, this happened on the 16th Aug. When you are so far away and on the end of the phone it's not easy to grasp how serious things are, looking back I now know at this point how ill Andrew was and I suppose you just hope every thing will be ok. Sadly Andrew past away on sat 15th Sept 2007 He was only 44.
When I wrote the song "The Adelaide Hills" some of the words were ok but I can remember thinking at the time what's that line suppose to mean, but now! it's as if the song was written for Sue & Andrew, all the words make perfect sense. Also, the nice thing was that at Andrews's celebration of his life he had requested that my song was played, and for me this was a real honor. Sue has now come back to the UK and has asked me to do a live performance for his celebration for all his family and friends at his home town. This song has become so much more than just another song. www.myspace.com/pureclimate
