EWIS, if you get to western Colorado give me a holler. The canyons here are nothing compared to the Grand Canyon, but they are still a sight to see. You can drive up out of our high (about 4,500 feet above sea level)desert semi-temperate valley to sub-alpine (11,000 feet) on the top of the huge and ancient Grand Mesa (it used to be a volcano, they think at least another ten miles higher than what we see today!), in a couple or so hours with all of the beautiful landscape you'd expect in-between.
