I think it was George Orwell who said this would happen--though it wasn't so much a prediction as an observation. It is a standard ploy that rulers have used since the year one--

I watched these guys when this first was news--and, though you won't find a firmer advocate for Intelligent Life in the Universe, I don't trust them. Strangely enough, since this would seem to be a big bonanza for my side, I don't buy their stories. Maybe it's just the weird body language--but I think that they aren't what they seem to be. Maybe I 'm a wacko, but it doesn't mean I believe every other wacko that comes down the pike.
