I am delighted you all are looking forward to this and thanks for checking this thread. I haven't heard them since Frankie Kennedy died in 1994, but I understand they are still really wonderful.

I was lucky, the one and only time i got to see them was in an old wooden church whihc had been converted into a performing arts center in Westerly, Rhode Island. The acoustic and ambiance were just perfect; just the right size for an intimate evening between them and the audience. (Much more so than the time I was lucky enough to see the Chieftains at UMASS-Amherst...huge auditorium, where we perched up high in the cheaper seats, still grand, though.:-) Altan came down and mingled, signed autographs, and sold casette tapes between sets. I cannot remember if it was '89 or '89, but I was in heaven that night.
