Our daughter has come home twice after failed live in relationships, and she is only 22! We love having her back partly because we KNOW she is safe now. We don't charge her rent (yea, we probably should) but we've had quite a few 'stray children' stay with us over the years and we've never charged any of them rent.

She does her own laundry, her share of the house chores, helps buy people food and dog food. She is a waitress and is supporting a vehicle and 2 dogs. She has been back nearly a year this time and all seems to be working out well.

Son is a different story. We thought he would NEVER move out, but he finally did at age 24. He is married with one child now, so I doubt he'll ever need to move 'home'.
