My mother gave us room and board until we graduated from college (and a short time thereafter). But the idea was that we would move out and start our lives on our own. They are your children, true, but they have to have their own lives and, sometimes, that means that they will fail.

I know, this sounds harsh and cruel and mean. But the world IS harsh and cruel and mean and parents won't always be there to pick up the pieces.
