Yes there were a lot of Kellys in the Wigan/St Helens area. My sisters mother married one. And one of his brothers emigrated to Canada, where he became known as the Poet of the Prairies - on account of hism being a train driver and crossing the prairies continually. There is a family legend that The Dubliners recorded one of his songs - but I have never seen any back up for this.
