It was, indeed, Elmo Shropshire, a graduate of veterinary school, and his knock-out-then-wife Patsy, who recorded Grandma Got, etc.
We spent a couple of Christmas seasons on the road with the Harvest Festival craft show appearing opposite Elmo and Patsy and the Turkey River Boys (later the Turkey River Cruise Jockeys). They were all very nice people and we have fond memories of all of them. BUT! I'll really be just fine if I don't hear that song again.
