Susan: most of the people I end up playing to haven't heard much if any folk music: they're more used to VERY LOUD pub bands, so a rather laid back guitar and mandolin duo come as a bit of a shock ;-)

I noticed from the "where do people play these days" thread that a lot of folks seem to be in the same situation, so I got curious.
