Susan, the main auction page has a countdown: 'x full days' until the day it ends, then it counts down hours. It's not going to get much clearer than that.

If you still find it hard to understand, maybe say something in the FAQ. I don't know that other people have a problem with it, but you can ask there. It would take a Max or a Jeff to change the way the auction displays.
