I love folk music, always will, but am less enamoured of the UK folk "scene", which seems to me have become pretty moribund.

Then you really ought to get out more. In fact the UK folk scene is probably at its liveliest it has been for years. Where have you been?

Lots of new and exciting performers and lots of new festivals. Even some new folk clubs.

And who are the folk police? How can I find them/avoid them?
