But I'd like to ask you, publicly, a technical question.

When I opened Mudcat this morning it was to a thread on "The Village Pump"; I posted a comment about the hamlet I came from (with its odd name and I suddenly noticed 'unusual' words being given the red underlining treatment that Word gives words it regards as misspellings. Is this just me or is there now a wonderful new opportunity for 'catters to display their erudition?

That isn't Mudcat. I get it from the spellchecker in Firefox, and I'm guessing you're getting it from your browser. Rick-click on one of those underlined words and see what comes up.
