Re contactlenses - for 20+ years I wore the hard perspex ones with NO hassles - just a little bit of redness.

So he insisted that I get SOFT ones - went thru nightmare madness for AGES till I ditched the bloody SPECIALIST and just listened to the optometerist - it was the SILICON intended for 'long wear' that made my use churn out excess mucus that the lenses sucked up and turned opaque in a few hours!

Took a search, but eventually fond ones that I can wear with no hassle.
