I am trying to get or make a IEEE1394 (3 pin) cable (for HD digital signals) into a cable with a HDMI plug on the other end.

ideally I need 2 such cables for my digital recorder to TV AND BOX TO RECORDER.

So far what I have tried to order or looked for don't fit.

Is there such a cable for sale?
can I make one?


Do I first need to adapt the 3 pin IEEE into a 6 pin IEEE?
that much I can do.



PS

Comcast is required by law to have the IEEE outlets on their cable box but while they are labled on the back they are disabled by not installing the female plug. This was atested to by their phone technician.
I guess.
THey want people to rent their temporary recorders and not use other recrding devices,
