Thanks for posting to this thread. I'm sure that I wouldn't know a lot of the songs that you do. Mudcat's a great place to learn about lots of music, isn't it.
But you know, now that I think of it, "Hot Buttered Sole" woulda been a great title for a thread on the subject of "What kind of sea foods do you like?"
Shucks, that didn't occur to me. Instead I decided to focus-in admittedly "Shot Gun"* fashion-on songs that are labeled "soul music". I also thought that this thread could include a listing of songs from other genres that have the word "soul" in their title and their lyrics.
So this thread is only a play on words in that it riffs off that "Hot Buttered Rum" thread title.
* "Shot Gun" is another play on words for those who know R&B/Soul music. And for those who don't, Mudcat is a great place to learn about this genre of "folk" music.
