i love soul.... hi-energy funk , sweat drippin' ballads. as an early teenager I went from C&W right into Soul... Ray Charles had already crossed into Country, snagged more than a few white-asses, and opened up a whole new world to me. Before that, I had a lone Fats Domino LP along with Hank, Buck, Johhny, The Carters etc.. So it was really Fats and Ray that pointed me toward the 'soul train'..After attending some live shows in the big city... that was it.... it was time to groove... James Brown, The Godfather, what an animal.. make your pants want to get up and dance..

There was a CD released a few years ago, I believe it was called 'Rythm and Country'.... some fine duets featuring folks like Sam Moore, Gladys Knight, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt... can't remember the rest.... but it was a good idea, something that took far too long to get here...
