Thread Name: Lyr Req: One Fine Summers Day
Subject: Lyr Req: One Fine Summers Day
I've been after the words for a song for years putting it on Mudact more than once to no avail. However Mudact has grown since then so I'll try again.
In the late 70's two Canadian women sang a song at Bracknell folk festival which was a role reversal whereby the young sailor ends up lamenting he is quite undone by a women, it starts....

One fine summers day a woman went walking
down by the river so gentle and free
and there she espied a beautiful sailor
sitting alone in the shade of a tree
she boldly stepped up to this young man
pray tell to me from whence you came
for my eyes have not feasted on such beauty
and may never do so again

Oh Madam I am a lonely sailor
recently returned from sea
.......................

She ends up having her wicked evil way with him and he ends up lamenting "Mother I am quite undone"

Anyone any idea's ........... ?
