The USA. At four years of age, my nephew would probably have applied the term to anything from a movie made in 1934 to a TV episode from 1956. The "old" was my wording; he just said "Green Hardy movies".
(My nephew is now a Sargeant Major with 20 years in the Army, currently serving in Iraq.)
