Hi Folks,
Just to let people know that the December 2007 edition of Worlds of Trad Internet radio programme is now uploaded, will be on-line until Wednesday January 9th 2008, and features the very best in traditional folk, ethnic, world, roots, blues, old time country and early jazz; in fact traditional music from absolutely everywhere.
This will be the last programme of 2007, so let me thank everyone who's listened in, and let me say how good it's been to know there are people out there enjoying the kind of music I enjoy.
This month there's a gargantuan spread of festive cheer from Jean Ritchie, Earl Johnson, Hedy West and many others, including various groups of village carollers from South Yorkshire and beyond. Mississippi's very own John Hurt, and Liverpool's very own Blue Magnolia Jass Orchestra pay their respective tributes to their respective Creole Belles, while Kid Ory blows his Creole Trombone. There's a cache of Canadian fiddlers, plus a host of harmonicas, some west African country guitar, and some Appalachian country guitar. Dick Justice, Doc Watson, Dock Boggs, Ralph Stanley and Matt Inboden bring us their respective takes on Darling Corey; and Leroy Carr tells us what a pain it is to be in jail over Christmas. Honest, there's no pleasing some people.
There's lots more besides and the full playlist is just below.
To listen to the programme, go to http://www.live365.com/stations/oneworldmusic , and click on the yellow speaker button. If you need to, follow the onscreen instructions to download the station player. Then wait a moment or two and the station will be on the air.
If you'd like to receive notifications of future uploads, send an email to Fredlive365@aol .com with the words ADD ME in the subject line.
Don't forget, the music's great, listening is free and I'm always glad to receive requests.
All the Best, and have a swinging Christmas
Fred McCormick
