Subject: RE: BS: Bat Goddess's Broken Arm
While we're waiting for more updates we could compare notes on our experiences with breaking bones. Some may have missed this life experience.

I was only 10 when my sled decided to take out a large pine tree. You see our farmhouse is on a high winding hill with a pine grove at the bottom, before you get to the stone bridge and the trolls. My older brother always made efforts to "improve" the sledding surface by judiciously pouring water on the hill, something my father failed to fully appreciate. So anyway, one day we were racing down and I was trying my best to keep up with big brother and my sled took a jump and went off the course and into a tree. Fortunately the tree wasn't critically injured but my brother was impressed with the big dent in the front of my sled, and the fact that I was screaming at the top of my lungs. My parents hustled me off to the hospital where I only remember the nurse saying, "Will we have to streeeetch it?" It was only a fracture, much to her disappointment. And I was back sledding in 8 weeks.

Cheerily,
