On an off-shore fishing boat my wife and I became quite "mal de mare". I was quite violent about it, so much so that I broke small veins in both eyes and turned them quite red around the blue eyeballs.

Now, this isn't a serious condition to the person who has it (usually). And I was wearing flip-up sunglasses at the time. I could mention the Evil Eye and s-l-o-w-l-y flip up the sunglasses, leaving the person to whom I was talking to deal with two red eyes.

Eventually the red (the injury is on the order of a bruise) turned yellow, another cool color for eyes. Then it faded and disappeared.

But it was fun while it lasted.

(Yes, I did go see the ophthalmologist as soon as possible after the injury.)
