Hey, table was my first guess too---and just because I'm late, I don't get a Kewpie doll! I am not amply endowed at all, (and don't play one of those "D" things anyway, so I have never had a problem, but the only way I can play a lap dulcimer is sitting on the floor with my left foot tucked under my right knee and right leg out straight. I guess you ladies could be like the Ancient Amazon boyers, and remove the offender? And Sandy, I thought Martin did make a "D" size? LOL And Rick, Mark Tindle, Walnut Valley (multiple) Dulcimer Champion, does play his on a table. Other folks I know with no laps use dulcimer "Seat Belts", or hold them up like guitars, using the same seat belt.
