Well, grew up outside of Washington, D.C. and lived in D.C. for 13+ years; does playing for the Pres count? But I'll take credit for John Phillip Sousa and the United States Marine Band. But Al Jolson, Duke Ellington and Jelly Roll Morton wandered through or came from here abouts. Now I live near Baltimore. That had Billie Holiday and, Oh! Mama Cass Elliot was from Maryland :-)
