By the way, I'm a great fan of Christmas and its songs. A wonderous mixture of Old and New Testament, with a hefty dose of pre-Christian animism, a dash of Druidism, and a pinch of word-of-mouth Gnosticism, and who knows what else.

I love the way songs and stories adapt and change and are given new (sometimes personal) interpretations. It's all jolly good fun.

And if I chose to sing:
We Three Kings of Glory and Tar, Puffing On a Rubber Cigar, It was Loaded And Exploded, Now we're on our way to Mars!

...I feel that somewhere there's a theologian who can explain why this actually makes perfectly good sense!
