Squirrels have Mighty Battles. When I worked with kids in the city, I was usually the only staff member who'd grown up rural and had two clues about wildlife. Once, on a winter park walk with a bunch of three and four year olds, a staff member threw one cracker between two squirrels who were already giving each other a jaundiced eye. There ensued a vicious, eye-gouging, face-biting, snarling no-holds-barred fight between the two, blood flying everywhere. The kids reacted with either deep interest or sobs of horror, depending on their personal bent. The other three staff stood in stunned silence, no doubt wondering how Disney got it all so very, very wrong...

Oh, yeah... a Bluejay flew down and swiped the cracker.
