Kat, I think an intense yellow would be too much unless you use it as an accent color.

Do you have objects and towels sitting out that are colorful?

Best is to choose a neutral color for walls and cabinets and then
pick out a color or two from your accessories and pots and dishes to color the knobs and accents like trim.

My kitchen is a very light tan for the ceiling and then a latte brown for the cabinets. The floor is a pebble like linoleum that has those two colors and off white.

The counter top is a light yellow and I have collectible pottery displayed that is pale yellow and potholders that are pale yellow.

Cabinet knobs are painted hunter green and I have hunter green, purple and light yellow dishes displayed.

Make the ceiling and walls coordinate with the floor color in a neutral way, then play up more color with accessories and stuff you display.
