With such a nice big kitchen, I think you can have some fun. My kitchens have always tended toward having a lot of appliance clutter, which has always lead me away from having an accent wall - just adds one more dimension of clutter.

I might stick with yellow, but go for a nice warm light butter yellow. I might paint the cabinets a rich warm dark, almost brown, ochre - I know, sounds like baby poop. Then make them shiny with a coat of clear latex or urethane.
