Mithra(s) the Persian Sun God was born on December 25. I think that in accordance with the Jesus legend, he was born on what they call Epiphany, Jan 6 or 8, I forget which.

The point of Christmas for me is simply "Peace on Earth and good will toward all.

It's a great time to be with friends and family.
