It does get better and better.

I actually managed to break three separate bones in a period of 3 years when I was an adolescent. Left arm, left shoulder, and right foot, neither of them was what I'd describe as a pleasant experience. My parents were beginning to wonder if I needed calcium supplements, but they were all stupid accidents.

Back in those days they put everything in a cast, which added another 4 to 6 weeks in dealing with atropied muscles. Medical practice is much better now, I understand, but I still watch where I'm going.
